Our aim
This site is built so that health information is usable by as many people as possible, including patients using a screen reader, navigating by keyboard, or reading at an enlarged text size. Many of the people who need this information are elderly, and that has been assumed throughout rather than treated as an edge case.
What has been done
Text and background colours are chosen to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast. Every interactive element can be reached and operated by keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline. Headings follow a correct order so a screen reader can navigate by structure, and there is a skip link to the main content.
Meaningful images carry alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology. Text resizes without the layout breaking, and animation is reduced automatically if your device asks for that.
The full content of the site is available in English, Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi, with the page language declared correctly so screen readers pronounce it properly.
