A urologist is a surgeon who treats the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate and the male reproductive system. An andrologist deals specifically with male sexual and reproductive health. MCh (Urology) is the super-specialty surgical qualification in this field in India — completed after MBBS and a full general surgery MS.
How he works
A consultation starts with the history — what you noticed, when it started, how it has changed, what you have already been told. Examination and any tests follow from that, chosen for your case rather than ordered as a fixed panel.
The findings are then explained to you directly, using your own scan and report where that helps. If there is more than one reasonable option, you hear about all of them, including doing nothing for now.
Dr. Malaviya leads your urological care with support from the hospital team. When another specialty is needed, the next steps and referral options are discussed with you.
Prepare for your consultation
Bring your previous reports, scan images and a list of medicines. Write down your symptoms and questions so that the consultation can focus on what matters to you.
